The 2024 Foundation of the AAGL Award Ceremony and Gala, a high-energy event that has become a new favorite among AAGL members, will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana at The Fillmore on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 7:00pm – 12:00am. This “must attend” social event is an opportunity for AAGL 2024 attendees to unite with friends and colleagues to honor and celebrate achievements in MIGS.
The Foundation of the AAGL (Foundation) has supported awards, grants and scholarships, under their EDUCATION, MENTORSHIP and GLOBAL OUTREACH pillars. Under the Education pillar, the Foundation has granted more than $1.5 Million over the last 10 years to support the education and training of AAGL’s Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (FMIGS) programs and fellows.
For 30 years, the Foundation has provided awards and scholarships for Excellence in MIGS.
- The Foundation’s Noteworthy Awards, our highest honor, recognizes physicians who have inspired us through their Mentorship and Excellence in MIGS.
- The Foundation’s Signature Awards for Scientific Achievements recognize top scoring abstracts submitted to the AAGL Global Congress.
- The Foundation’s Scholarship Awards provide surgeons from developing economies and Residents an opportunity to attend AAGL’s Global Congress.
One of our most recent efforts to promote PATIENT ADVOCACY, is a new webinar titled “Endometriosis: An Often-Missed Cause of Debilitating Pain”. This training for Emergency Room Providers identifies the scope of the problem, the need for proper imaging and treatment options for the early detection of Endometriosis. We hope you’ll share this webinar with interested parties at your institutions and help us spread the word!
Last, the Foundation is currently raising funds in support of GLOBAL OUTREACH to support developing economies by coordinating equipment donations, arranging travel for medical teams to needed locations, and providing surgical and nursing education to countries in need. We hope you’ll partner with us by donating online or at the Foundation’s Award Ceremony Gala.
